The Indian Air Force (IAF) has stepped up its rescue operations in the Kedarnath Valley, deploying Mi-17 and ALH helicopters from Guptkashi and Chinook helicopters from Gaucher helipad. These aircraft have been essential in carrying out multiple sorties, ensuring the evacuation of stranded individuals from the affected areas within the Kedarnath Valley.
Since early morning, the IAF has successfully delivered 800 kg of relief material to the impacted zones. “In addition to the material drops, 94 individuals, including children and patients, have been rescued as part of the ongoing relief efforts.”
Search Operations in Rudraprayag
Meanwhile, dog squads led by District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO) Nandan Singh Rajawar have initiated search operations from Rambara to the Bhimbali area in Rudraprayag. These teams are working diligently to locate missing persons in the region.
In a parallel effort, under the supervision of security forces, 100 people were transported from Kedarnath Dham to Lincholi helipad on Monday. These individuals were subsequently airlifted and transferred to Shersi helipad for further safety.
