NEET Paper Leak- Sanjeev Mukhiya the Political Aspirant and Mastermind Behind the Scandal

Sanjeev Kumar ‘Mukhiya’, a resident of Nalanda, Bihar, has emerged as a pivotal figure in the alleged NEET-UG paper leak, recently handed over to the CBI by Bihar’s Economic Offences Unit. Accused of orchestrating what investigators term the ‘Solver Gang’, a network spanning multiple states, Mukhiya stands accused of facilitating the sale of solved question papers for competitive exams.

Mukhiya, 51, allegedly involved in at least five major paper leak cases, including the Bihar teachers’ recruitment exam, where his son Dr. Shiv alias Bitu was arrested earlier this year, remains elusive despite filing for anticipatory bail.

Originally an aide to Ranjeet Don, a figure linked to exam rackets in the 90s, Mukhiya transitioned into running his own operations. His tenure as a technical assistant at Udyan Vidyalaya in Nalanda’s Noorsarai provided cover for his illicit activities, with involvement in multiple paper leak rackets both within and beyond Bihar, resulting in arrests in the past.

His political connections add another layer of intrigue. Mukhiya’s wife, Mamata Devi, contested the 2020 Assembly polls from Harnaut under the Lok Janshakti Party banner, marking a departure from JD(U). This move, although unsuccessful, underscores his political ambitions by proxy.

Despite the scandal and political fallout, Mukhiya’s influence extends beyond his alleged crimes. The Opposition’s release of photos linking him to leaders of various parties within the National Democratic Alliance has sparked controversy, highlighting the depth of political entanglement surrounding the case.

As investigations continue and legal proceedings unfold, the call for a thorough examination of Mukhiya’s alleged network intensifies. The implications of such scams, spanning multiple states and casting doubt on the integrity of national exams like NEET, demand urgent attention and accountability.

Sanjeev Mukhiya’s alleged involvement in orchestrating NEET paper leaks underscores the far-reaching consequences of academic fraud. As authorities delve deeper into unraveling the ‘Solver Gang’ and its operations, restoring faith in the examination system becomes paramount. The need for stringent measures and ethical governance in handling competitive exams cannot be overstated.
