Exit Polls 2024 Live Updates: The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is poised to secure over 350 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats, according to multiple exit polls released on Saturday. Notably, three polls suggest the NDA could make history by surpassing the 400-seat mark. Exit polls anticipate a decisive victory for the BJP in Congress-ruled Karnataka, while the India TV-CNX poll forecasts a landslide for the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP and NDA in Andhra Pradesh.

Prominent pollsters like India Today—Axis My India, Today’s Chanakya, Times Now—ETG, C-Voter, and CSDS—Lokniti have shared their predictions today. The exit polls published on Saturday, June 1, immediately followed the conclusion of voting for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. The critical question remains: will the BJP secure a third consecutive term, or will the opposition’s India bloc disrupt their streak?

Understanding Exit Polls:

Exit polls gauge post-election sentiments, predicting possible seat allocations for political parties. However, they are not definitive results; the Election Commission will announce the official Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 on June 4.

Exit Poll Release Schedule:

Media outlets began publishing exit polls after 6:30 p.m. on June 1, following the end of voting. The Election Commission had imposed a ban on exit polls from April 19 at 7 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. on June 1, 2024. The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 spanned seven phases from April 17 to June 1, covering all 543 seats. The Election Commission will declare the official results on June 4.

Simultaneous Assembly Elections:

Concurrently, the states of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim held assembly elections. The results for Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim will come out on June 2, while Andhra Pradesh and Odisha will share their outcomes on June 4.

Market Reactions:

Indian markets hit record highs, with the Nifty index climbing 3.59% to 23,338.70 points and the BSE index soaring 3.76% to a peak of 76,738.89. This surge reflects investor optimism toward a continued BJP government, anticipating robust public spending to sustain economic growth. The 10-year government bond yield dipped to 6.9421%, the lowest since April 2022, while the rupee appreciated to 82.9575, its highest since March.

Upcoming Election Results:

While the exit polls have buoyed the BJP, the final Lok Sabha election results will emerge on June 4, with vote counting starting at 8 a.m. across all constituencies.

Celebration Plans:

Anticipating a significant victory, the BJP is organizing a grand event at Bharat Mandapam or Kartavya Path over the weekend, expected to draw 8,000–10,000 attendees. Additionally, the President’s Secretariat has issued a ₹21.97 lakh tender for indoor and ornamental plants in preparation for the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
