Sonakshi Sinha married her long-time boyfriend, Zaheer Iqbal, in an intimate ceremony held at her new apartment, 81 Aureate, in Mumbai on Sunday. The couple shared the news of their marriage through a collab social media post, accompanied by dreamy snapshots from their civil wedding. In the photos, Sonakshi looks adorable in a white saree, with minimal makeup and jewelry, and flowers in her hair. Zaheer complements her look with a white kurta.

The marriage was registered under the Special Marriage Act at Sonakshi’s new apartment, near the Rang Sharda Auditorium in Bandra West, Mumbai, as reported by IANS. After the wedding, Shatrughan Sinha expressed his joy to the media, saying, “Every father waits for this moment when his daughter is given to her chosen groom. My daughter looks most happy with Zaheer. Unki jodi salamat rahe (May their union stay strong forever).” He attended the wedding with his wife, Poonam.
The intimate ceremony was attended by family members and close friends, including Sonakshi’s BFF Huma Qureshi, her brother Saqib Saleem, Aditi Rao Hydari and her fiancé Siddharth, Arpita Khan, and Aayush Sharma.
Sonakshi and Zaheer, co-stars of the 2022 film Double XL, reportedly began dating in 2020. Following the civil wedding, the couple will celebrate with a party and a reception tonight at a Mumbai restaurant owned by Shilpa Shetty, marking the final leg of their wedding festivities.
