Allegations of Insider Involvement in Kolkata Doctor’s Tragic Rape and Murder
The parents of a trainee doctor who was brutally raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital have made grave accusations, suggesting that some within the institution may have been involved. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which took over the case following an order from the Calcutta High Court, has been provided with the names of specific interns and doctors believed to be connected to this heinous crime.
A CBI officer revealed that the parents suspect multiple individuals could be involved in their daughter’s untimely death. “They have expressed their suspicion that more than one person may have played a part in her tragic fate,” the officer stated. Additionally, Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, was also questioned. It is worth noting that Dr. Ghosh resigned just two days after the discovery of the doctor’s body, citing concerns for his safety. In his resignation, he sought protection from the Calcutta High Court, further raising suspicions.
In a significant development, the CBI utilized advanced 3D technology to reconstruct the crime scene. This reconstruction took place in the seminar hall of the hospital, where the trainee doctor’s body was tragically found on August 9. The 3D reconstruction was conducted with the aid of an arrested civic volunteer, one of the accused in the case.

Meanwhile, the case has ignited political tensions, with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accusing the opposition of creating unrest at the hospital and spreading misinformation. At a recent rally, she condemned the circulation of “fake news” surrounding the case and called for strict punishment for those responsible for spreading falsehoods.
On the other side of the political spectrum, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia criticized the leaders of the opposition bloc, INDIA, accusing them of showing selective outrage based on political expediency. Bhatia warned that their silence on such a critical issue could have severe repercussions and asserted that the CBI would ensure all guilty parties are brought to justice, regardless of any political affiliations.
