Modi 3.0 Cabinet: Key Ministers Retain Portfolios in the New Government

Modi Cabinet Formation Live Updates: S. Jaishankar on Tuesday assumed his role as the Foreign Minister, alongside Ashwini Vaishnaw, who took charge of the Railway Ministry.

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi allocated portfolios for the Modi 3.0 government, with several prominent ministers retaining their positions. Amit Shah continues as the Minister of Home Affairs, while Rajnath Singh remains the Minister of Defense. Nitin Gadkari keeps his role as the Minister of Road Transport and Highways.

Nirmala Sitharaman holds onto her vital position as the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs. Dr. S. Jaishankar remains the Minister of External Affairs, guiding India’s foreign policy amidst a dynamic global landscape. Piyush Goyal continues as the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles.

Ashwini Vaishnaw, who has made notable advancements in his prior tenure, retains his role as the Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics and Information Technology. Keeping these key ministers in their respective positions ensures continuity and stability in the government’s policies and initiatives.

On Sunday, Narendra Modi was sworn in for his third consecutive term as Prime Minister of India at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The grand ceremony was attended by leaders from neighboring countries and the Indian Ocean region.

President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to PM Modi, who wore a full-sleeved white kurta with churidar and a blue half-jacket. Following him, other members of his cabinet took their oaths.

PM Modi’s previous terms have been marked by significant initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Housing for All, Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Man Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, UDAN, and Make in India. He has also prioritized developing next-generation infrastructure, speeding up pending projects, and promoting environmental conservation.

Leading the BJP-led NDA, PM Modi secured a third consecutive victory in the Lok Sabha elections, with the BJP achieving an absolute majority in the 2014 and 2019 polls. He is committed to making India a developed nation by 2047 and is confident in leveraging his experience to steer the country through global challenges and tensions.
