Apple’s Bold Move: Foldable iPad, Sleek iPhone Air, and More?

Table Of Content

Apple is gearing up to revolutionize its product lineup with innovative devices, including a foldable iPad, a sleeker iPhone Air, and updated accessories. According to a Bloomberg report, these devices aim to blend cutting-edge design with functionality. With the first launches expected as early as 2025, Apple is poised to set new benchmarks in tech.

Apple’s Upcoming Innovations: What to Expect

Apple’s ambitious plans include foldable devices and redesigned accessories that promise to enhance user experience and aesthetics. Here’s what’s on the horizon:

Foldable iPad

One of the most anticipated devices in Apple’s pipeline is a foldable iPad. According to Bloomberg, the device will feature a flexible display approaching 20 inches in size—roughly the size of two iPad Pros side by side. The display is designed with a “nearly invisible crease,” a major focus of its development.

While the foldable iPad will primarily run on iPadOS, it is expected to support certain macOS apps, making it a hybrid device. Additionally, it will be compatible with accessories like the Apple Pencil. Currently a prototype, the foldable iPad is projected for release in 2028.

Foldable iPhone

Apple is also working on a foldable iPhone model, with a launch timeline set for 2026, according to Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal. Unlike earlier prototypes featuring flexible displays on the exterior, Apple is leaning towards an inward-folding design similar to other manufacturers’ foldable phones.

The foldable iPhone is expected to feature a display larger than the iPhone 16 Pro Max when unfolded, offering an immersive experience.

iPhone 17 Air

Apple plans to discontinue the iPhone Plus model and replace it with the iPhone 17 Air, which will sport a thinner design, measuring just 5mm to 6mm in thickness. This compact form factor may require certain trade-offs, including:

  • A smaller battery
  • Single speaker
  • Single rear camera
  • Removal of the physical SIM slot

Interestingly, the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be priced lower than Apple’s Pro models, countering earlier speculation about it being a premium offering.

Apple Watch Ultra 3

The third-generation Apple Watch Ultra is set to include satellite connectivity, enabling users to contact emergency services and send iMessages via the Globalstar satellite network. Additionally, next year’s Apple Watch models are expected to debut a hypertension detection feature, which will alert users to potential high blood pressure without providing specific readings.

AirTag

Apple is reportedly preparing to launch an upgraded AirTag in 2025. This new model is expected to feature an advanced ultrawide-band chip, significantly extending its detection range. Current AirTag models offer Precision Finding within 10 to 30 meters; the new version may triple this range.

Magic Mouse

A redesign of the Magic Mouse is also in the works, with a release slated for 2025 or early 2026. Addressing longstanding complaints, the new Magic Mouse will feature a revamped design and relocate the charging port from its impractical position at the bottom.

A Game-Changing Future?

Apple’s commitment to innovation continues to push boundaries, blending sleek design with functionality. With foldable devices, thinner smartphones, and improved accessories on the horizon, the company is set to reshape the tech landscape. Are these futuristic upgrades enough to keep Apple ahead in the competitive market?
