Nita and Mukesh Ambani recently hosted a mass wedding for over 50 underprivileged couples from Maharashtra’s Palghar on July 2, ahead of their son Anant Ambani’s wedding.
As part of the lead-up to their youngest son Anant Ambani’s wedding, Nita and Mukesh Ambani organized a grand mass wedding ceremony for more than 50 underprivileged couples from Maharashtra’s Palghar district. Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s much-anticipated nuptials are scheduled for July 12 in Mumbai.
A Celebratory Gathering
The mass wedding event took place at the Reliance Corporate Park in Thane and was attended by around 800 people, representing the families of the couples. In attendance were Nita and Mukesh Ambani, alongside Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta, and Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal.
Thoughtful Gifts for the Newlyweds
Each couple received gold ornaments, including mangalsutra, wedding rings, and nose rings. Additionally, they were gifted silver ornaments such as toe rings and anklets. Each bride was also presented with a cheque of Rs 1.01 lakh as her ‘streedhan.’
Moreover, the couples were provided with groceries and household items sufficient for a year. These included a variety of 36 essential items and utensils, appliances such as a gas stove, mixer, and fan, as well as a mattress and pillows.
Cultural Festivities and Community Spirit
The event also featured a grand dinner and guests were treated to a traditional Tarpa dance performed by the Warli Tribe, enriching the evening with cultural significance.
Firm believers in the principle “manav seva hi madhav seva (service to humanity is service to God),” the Ambani family consistently begins significant family events by giving back to the community, showcasing their unwavering commitment to serving others.
Prelude to Anant Ambani’s Wedding
Meanwhile, Anant Ambani’s wedding celebrations began with an intimate puja ceremony at the Ambanis’ Mumbai residence, Antilia, on June 29. The couple is set to marry on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
The wedding festivities will span three days, with events including ‘Shubh Vivaah’ followed by ‘Shubh Aashirwad’ on July 13 and ‘Mangal Utsav’ or the wedding reception on July 14.
