In the ongoing Phase 5 of the Lok Sabha election 2024, the nation saw a voter turnout of 36.72% by 1 pm. Notably, Ladakh marked the highest turnout at 52.02%, contrasting with Maharashtra’s lowest at 27.78% during the same period.

This Lok Sabha Election phase encompasses 49 constituencies across six states and two Union territories, including significant battlegrounds like Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Simultaneously, 35 assembly constituencies in Odisha, featuring Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as a contender, also witnessed voting. 

Among the key highlights are 13 seats in Maharashtra, 14 in Uttar Pradesh, and a single seat each in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. A total of 695 candidates are vying for victory in this phase, making it the shortest with 49 seats up for grabs. The election authorities have scheduled the culmination and vote counting for June 4, following the process scheduled over seven phases from April 19 to June 1.
